Business and Industrial History: A Journal of Archival Research is a journal for archivists and historians to share and develop knowledge and awareness of
business and industrial history and archives both in Scotland and internationally. The journal is published by the Business Archives Council of Scotland and the Centre of Business History in Scotland at the University of Glasgow.
The Business Archives Council of Scotland has published a journal
since 1977 and was previously known as Scottish Business and Industrial History (2011-2023) and Scottish Industrial History (1977-2010). -
Groundings PG
Groundings PG is an academic journal for postgraduate students at the University of Glasgow, supported by the Glasgow University Union Board of Management and the University Chancellor's Office. The Journal is a new project currently in our first year of publication under the stewardship of the Glasgow University Union’s Libraries Committee (GUU), building on the successes of our original undergraduate publication. A student-led, peer-reviewed journal like Groundings is a rare thing throughout the academic world, and we pride ourselves on the opportunities and exposure to the academic process we are able to provide at the University, both to our authors and the whole editorial team.

Groundings Undergraduate
Groundings UG is a peer-reviewed, Directory of Open Access Journals accredited academic journal for undergraduate students. We are based at the University of Glasgow and supported by the Glasgow University Union Board of Management and the University Chancellor's Office.
Our mission is to showcase the best work produced by our undergraduate community, and to provide an exciting opportunity to engage in the academic process. We also present at conferences, including running workshops at the British Conference of Undergraduate Research 2026 on academic publishing and research dissemination.
Submissions of up to 5,500 words are accepted from any subject in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Successful submissions are selected through an anonymous peer-review process, after which the chosen authors then work one-to-one with a member of the Editorial Board to revise their article before publication.
We currently accepting submissions for the British Conference of Undergraduate Research Special Edition and the Wealth of Nations 250th Anniversary Edition in collaboration with the Pluralistic Economics Academia Society.

Journal of Leadership, Scholarship and Praxis in Education
Volume one of the Journal of Leadership, Scholarship and Praxis in Education (LSPE) developed through a research practice partnership between the University of Glasgow’s School of Education and Glasgow City Council Education Services in Scotland, UK. LSPE has now expanded to a partnership between the Universities of Glasgow, Strathclyde, Edinburgh and Aberdeen in Scotland, along with School Leaders Scotland (SLS), the professional organisation for Secondary School Leaders in Scotland.
We publish research and scholarship from practising education leaders.*
Volume Two
Paper submissions are invited from practising education leaders* who have engaged with professional learning in Educational Leadership and/or Academic Mentorship at one of the partner universities. All submissions must meet the overall aims of the journal.
Submissions for volume two close on 31st August 2026.
Individual Paper Submissions
Individual paper submissions are invited throughout the year from practising education leaders at all levels in all contexts. All submissions must meet the overall aims of the journal.
Special Issues
Special issue themes will be identified by the editorial board. Calls for special issue submissions will be announced as they arise and will be open to all education leaders. All submissions must meet the overall aims of the journal.
* Education Leaders are those working in education establishments (for example schools or nurseries/ Early Learning Centres), Local Authorities/ districts or community settings, with a leadership role or responsibility.
There is no charge for authors to publish in LSPE.
All papers are double-blind peer reviewed.

PhysiOdyssey: Exploring Human Physiology
Read and publish creative physiology stories, poetry, and art. PhysiOdyssey is an open-access journal based at the University of Glasgow connecting science and creativity.
PhysiOdyssey is an open-access creative writing journal exploring physiology through imaginative and literary forms. Situated at the intersection of science and creativity, the journal provides a platform for writers, students, and scientists to engage with physiological concepts through original and thought-provoking work.
We welcome submissions in creative genres including short fiction, poetry, and graphic narratives, and particularly encourage contributions from students and early-career or novice writers, as well as interdisciplinary and science-adjacent creators. PhysiOdyssey aims to promote creativity in science and public engagement with physiology beyond traditional academic formats.

Scottish Journal of Open Research
The Scottish Journal of Open Research provides a platform for communication around open research. This journal originates from within the Open Research Scotland group. We welcome contributions from anyone who supports open research, or who wants to learn about the many facets of open research practice.
The journal is currently in a pilot phase which is intended to allow us to publish while some of our editors, reviewers and authors familiarise themselves with open journal publishing.
SJOR is an open access journal with no submission charges or article processing charges.

Surgo is Glasgow Medical School's newspaper, established in 1935. We are affiliated with Medchir and are an integral part of the history of one of the oldest Medical school societies. We aim to be a place that interesting stories, student experiences and medical school events can be shared; connecting students across the medical school.

Pirandello Studies: Modern Italian Drama
Pirandello Studies: Modern Italian Drama is the annual publication of The Society for Pirandello Studies in the UK and Ireland. We publish research on the life and works of Luigi Pirandello, including poetry, prose, drama, essays, and film, and comparative studies in which Pirandello plays a substantial part. We also welcome research on Italian drama of the 20th and 21st century, with or without a direct connection to Pirandello.
