Competition
Think, Write, Haiku: A Creative Physiology Challenge
Write a three-line haiku inspired by an organ or body part of your choice. Explore its functions, highlight a surprising fact, or capture its essence in a concise, imaginative way.
What’s a Haiku?
A haiku is a traditional Japanese form of poetry that is short, simple, and powerful. For this competition:
- It has three lines.
- The syllable pattern is 5–7–5:
- Line 1: 5 syllables
- Line 2: 7 syllables
- Line 3: 5 syllables
- Your haiku should reflect physiology—think of the function, uniqueness, or surprising aspects of an organ or body part.
- Keep it creative, clear, and suitable for a general audience.
