Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- The text is 1.5-spaced; uses a 12-point font; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format with PDFs if required. Images should be sent as png or jpeg files.
- The submission has not been previously published. If it is before another journal for consideration please let us know if it accepted.
Short stories and essays
Please submit stories or essays of up to 2000 words. Submissions should be in Word, OpenOffice or RTF format, with a sensible font and 1.5 line spacing. If you wish to include images with your submission, please send these as jpeg or png files. We will contact you for high resolution (300ppi) images if these are required for printing.
Poems
Please send poetry of up to 40 lines in Word, OpenOffice or RTF format. If your poem has a particular format in which you’d like it to be presented, you may also wish to include a pdf copy to represent this. Please only send one poem per submissions window.
Artwork and Graphic Narratives
Artwork originating in any medium should be submitted as a jpeg, png or gif file. We are happy to consider photographs, figures, illustrations, collages and paintings on a physiological theme. Supporting documentation, including descriptions and scientific statements, should be submitted in Word, OpenOffice or RTF format, with a sensible font and 1.5 line spacing.
Graphic narratives should be no more than two A4 sides and should be submitted in a format that suitably represents the work (e.g. Word, png, jpeg). We will contact you if we require your work in a different format.
