Author Guidelines
Thank you for considering submitting to Pirandello Studies. Below you will find instructions to prepare your work for consideration by our editorial team.
REVIEW PROCESS
All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected. Peer review will be double-blind, whenever possible, or single-blind when the author is easily identifiable (e.g. because the article is based on a publicly-delivered conference paper). Acceptance or rejection of contributions is decided on by the Editorial Board, which may also refer them back to their authors with suggestions about alterations.
COPYRIGHT PERMISSIONS
Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets, from the copyright holder(s). Written permission must be uploaded alongside the main typescript as a supporting document, and the source of the materials must be indicated in the typescript. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author.
LANGUAGES AND TRANSLATIONS
Articles are normally published in English or Italian, occasionally in other languages. All contributions in any language must be accompanied by an abstract and 3 to 5 keywords in English.
Authors writing in English should provide English translations of all foreign-language quotations. Translations of short quotations should be enclosed in square brackets and run on after the quotation itself in the body of the text; translations of long (displayed) quotations should be placed in footnotes. In the case of foreign-language titles of literary or dramatic works, an English translation of the title should be provided at its first appear ance; thereafter the title should be given in its original language only.
STYLE GUIDE
The style book of the MHRA should be adhered to; in cases of doubt, previous volumes should be imitated. The formulas op. cit. and ibid. should be avoided.

All references to Pirandello’s writings must be made to the new critical edition of Pirandello's Complete Works (Edizione nazionale dell'opera omnia di Luigi Pirandello).

QUALITY
An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.
