About the Journal
Groundings is an academic journal for undergraduate students, in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. We offer a rare opportunity for students at Glasgow to have their work published, or to participate in the production and management of an academic journal. Volumes are published annually.
Submissions of up to 4,000 words are accepted from any subject in the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Successful submissions are selected through an anonymous peer-review process, after which the chosen authors then work one-to-one with a member of the Editorial Board to revise their article before publication.
Groundings is published by the Glasgow University Union, managed by the Libraries Committee, and serves to showcase the very best of the University of Glasgow's academic writing. We receive financial backing from the University of Glasgow Chancellor's Fund, the Student Representative Council, and are supported by an academic Advisory Board drawn primarily from the University Faculty.
