Duality

Abstract

Emma Reid's interest in stroke pathophysiology began when her grandmother experienced a series of ischaemic strokes. This led to Emma undertaking a career in stroke research to investigate the underlying mechanisms of the disorder. In this poem, Emma creatively explores the dual role of microglia cells within the brain, following an ischaemic stroke.
